I know meaning of " about face " but I couldn't get how to use it.

The government did about face about refugee acts.

Can you please explain that?

It should be "an about-face". It means a reversal of course, a 180 degree change in direction.

How about this:

The government did an about-face about refugee acts.

Does it work?

***** NOT A TEACHER *****

Hello, Turkish:

I am not disagreeing with the teacher's answer.

I just wanted to tell you that the last three words do not work for me.

What would work for me would be something like this:

"The government has done an about-face regarding its tourism policy."

Yes, but those are two different uses of "about".

1. As usual, I did NOT make myself "perfectly clear."

a. I DID make it clear that I was NOT disagreeing with your "Yes." (I never disagree with teachers here.)

b. I DID make it clear that the OP's sentence did not "work" for me.

i. I was not comfortable with the last three words "about refugee acts."

(a) The word "acts" confused me. Did the OP mean legislation or policy or actions?

c. I simply suggested a sentence that sounded better and more natural to me (including my choice of preposition).
