Hi,

Below is a conversation from Skype, I have a question for below sentence.

you already have the report done, don't you?

Can I say:
1). Have you already have the report done?
2). Do you already have the report done?

I think both "1" and "2" are correct and without any syntax error, but I need to confirm.

Please help, thanks.

The second one is preferable.

You could also say:

Is the report finished yet?

1). Have you already have the report done?
2). Do you already have the report done?

They both do not sound right to me.

How about: Have you completed the report?

The first one does not seem to work:
"Have you already have(?) the report done?". I think that "Have you already got(BrE)/gotten(AmE) the report done?" should have been used instead - the second "have" is wrong there.

I am not a teacher.

Say:

Neither sounds right to me

I have never used "yet" like that.
For "Is the report finished yet", does it mean "Is the report still not finished"?

I just use "yet" in below situation:
--> Not finish yet. (or similar, note that the sentence has "NOT")

It sounds strange if just use "Finish yet". Can't understand the meaning why need to add "yet" without "NOT".
