Hi,

Keep the faculty of effort alive in you by all the uncalled for exercise every day.

What does the bold part mean?

I am not a teacher.

'Uncalled for exercise' is exercise you don't want or don't need.

Where did you find that text?

From a book.

That dismissive reply is not good enough, Untaught.

In future, please have the courtesy to tell us the title and author of published texts you are quoting from.

I forgot but it was written by a Pakistani author, I think. Is the use of "uncalled" not appropriate here?

The phrase is "uncalled for". It is used to indicate someone's displeasure with something.

The sentence is basically nonsense. You could say something like this:

Keep effort alive by striving for things whether the effort is worthwhile or not.

Even then, it is not much of a self-help sentence, but it is better than the original gibberish.
