I would like to know the meaning of "It" and "as" in the next sentence.
It is if you only eat when you're hungry, and cry when you're sad.

"It" means eating and crying.
But where do you see "as"?

I'm sorry.
I would like to know the meaning of "It" and "if" in the next sentence.
It is if you only eat when you're hungry, and cry when you're sad.

You have to read the whole silly cartoon to figure it out.

That's odd. The cartoon appeared in the OP, hence the above responses. Now it doesn't.

Try to post it again, please, smartdiet.

Incidentally, I have never found this comic strip series to be any more than mildly amusing.

If the only time you cry is when you are sad and the only time you eat is when you are hungry, then eating and crying are smart things to do.

The point being made is that a lot of adults eat more than they should and complain about things that aren't really problems, while babies are just expressing their actual needs.

It's really not that funny.

Surely it should be "It is as if..." I can't see the link to the cartoon.

I can't see it any longer either, but the statement was "Doing X isn't smart" and the response was "It is if..." where "it" is "Doing X."

The whole point of it seems to be that babies are good at being babies.
