Hi guys!
Could you please Tell me the meaning of lov ya? I have an easy relashionship with a guy that txt mr "lov ya" .
Thank you

Welcome to the forum, Paola.

It means 'I love you' in texting language (ti amo).

(Note: relationship)

I don't think it's strictly limited to texting, however. I hear it used colloquially as a term of endearment, usually as a farewell remark. I'm sure I've probably used it myself in that manner.

I'm taking off, see you later.
Ok, love ya, babe!

It seems more common in spoken AmE for women. It can be used with friends, family, children, or spouses. With men, it's usually reserved for spouses and children.

It's used in spoken BrE by some speakers.

Thank you! But...about the meaning? Is it used for love ?

Yes, or just general affection.

There is brotherly love as well as romantic love. I wouldn't be concerned that he is telling you he is gay and wants a different kind of relationship.

If I'm talking about person A to person B, I might say "Oh my God, I just love her!" without meaning that we are soul mates.

It can also be used between friends where I love you might sound over the top.
