Sociolinguistic situation in GB

I suggest that, in case you are wiriting a paper, that you do a case study on any of the linguistic varieties of English -whether regional or social -, study the particular linguistic traits and the social/regional mechnisms involved. It could be a work based on empirical research. However, be sure to use an appropriate theoretical framework - either descriptive or relating directly to sociolinguistic theory that you think useful for your topic.
