The pronunciation of 'r'

This rule is taken from the book ''English Pronunciation in Use'' by [/FONT]Mark Hancock. Could you please write examples in the places where I pu question marks?[FONT=&quot]

/kɑː /[/FONT] = in Br and[FONT=&quot]/kɑː r/[/FONT]in US. In Br, 'r' is pronounced onlywhen it is followed by a vowel, (?) while in US it is also pronouncedbefore consonants (?) and at the end of a word (teacher).

Sorry, but I don't understand. I am trying to find the words in your post in which 'r' is followed by a vowel and in American English 'r' before a consonant.
