[count] chiefly US, music : a part of a line of written music that is between two vertical lines or the group of beats between these lines

Judging from the context, "a line" means a staff, having five lines.
I think it is wrong to say that a line is a staff.
What do you think about that?

It doesn't say that a line is a staff.

Do you understand the definition of what a measure is?

Here are two bars of written music.

American English usually prefers 'measures' to 'bars'.

The staff (or stave) is the group of five lines on which the notes are written.
