Which of these adjectives can be used with te word appearance?

-plain
-plain-looking
-ugly
-repulsive
-ordinary
-funny
-unpleasant
-dowdy
-slatternly

I think plain an ugly can't be used in co mbination with appearance, but how about the rest?

What makes you think "plain" and "ugly" do not sound good with "appearance"? In fact only native speakers can answer such questions properly but I googled it and found that "plain", "ugly", "repulsive" are used with the word "appearance".

If you want to know what online-service I use - it's Fraze.it

I think there are infinite possibilities when you talk about appearance.

Hey, Boris. Now that you're answering questions, you should put "Not a teacher" in your post.

And what about Boris's answer about the usage of the adjectives with 'appearance'? Do you agree?
