'Though I've got to tell A.J. to change the lunch menu. No one in Littleworth wants to eat candied beetroot and broad bean salad and corn cake. This isn't p*ssing Fitzrovia. And I know they're going down well, but I think those wines you chose aren't worth it.

In this context, does the word "down" in "they're going down well" have anything to do with the action of drinking - as in "He downed the pint of beer" or does "go down well" mean the wines are being well received/the wines are catching on (the usual idiomatic meaning)?
