Hello everyone!

I would like to ask if there are any differences between "in my 30s" and "I am 30 years old". And when should we use "in my 30s"?
Is it a must to put "my" in between?

Thank you for answering my first post :)

Welcome to the forum, Jennifer.:-D

If you say 'I am in my 30s', I assume your age is anything from 30 to 39, and for some reason you don't want me to know your exact age.

You can't leave out 'my'.

Please don't use home-made emoticons to replace standard punctuation marks.

Yes, there is a difference.

I am 30 years old. 我三十歲.
I am in my 30s. 我三十幾歲.

Hello, Jennifer:

I just thought that you would like to know that here in the (United) States, some people might say "Raul is a thirtysomething/30-something" instead of "Raul is in his 30s."
