Dear teachers,
Would you be kind enough to tell me whether I am right with my interpretation of the expression in bold in the following sentence?
“So Jim,” said the doctor, sadly, “here you are. As you have brewed, so shall you drink, my boy. Heaven knows, I cannot find it in my heart to blame you.”
as you brew, so must you drink = as you have brewed, so shall you drink = you reap what you have sown, as a man makes his bed so he must lie in it
Thank you for your efforts.
Regards,
V.
