Hi,
I want to know that whether I shoud say 'come do' or 'come to do'. Hope someone could help me
Before I post this question, I have already asked someone and searched on the online dictionaries.
1、https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/come
in here I find that ‘come see’ is correct
2、in other dictionaries,I didn't find 'come do sth' is being used.
3、https://www.collinsdictionary.com/dictionary/english/come
here said that in American English,we can use 'come do sth' but in British English, you must use 'come and do sth'.
4、One friend of mine, who is a translator and often writes power points for the American native speakers in her company, told me that people usually say 'come and do' instead of'come do'.For example, when someone is going to run for the presidency, he'd better use 'come and do' or'come to do' instead of'come do'.
So I want to know what's the differences between them and how should I use them correctly.
