Which one(s) is/are the most natural way(s) of saying that? Which is/are unnatural?

  1. Do you remember him finding out she'd been calling his best friend?
  2. Do you remember how he found out she'd been calling his best friend?
  3. Do you remember him learning she'd been calling his best friend?
  4. Do you remember how he learned she'd been calling his best friend?

I think the first two are a bit more natural, but they're all OK.

You essentially have two pairs of sentences.

If you are asking whether 'learn' or 'find out' is more natural, then they're equally natural in this context. Use whichever you wish.

However, #2 and #4 don't have the same meaning as their respective counterparts #1 and #3.

This is interesting. Could you please explain the difference to me?

#1 & #3 ask about your recollection of an event. It happened, but do you have any memory of it happening?

#2 & #4 ask if you can recall any specifics of the source of his knowledge. He learned the information, but do you know how he found out?
