I don't understand what the phrase "get his gloves dirty" means in this context. Can you explain?

West Ham 2-1 Wolves (80 mins) Lukasz Fabianski gets his gloves dirty again as Mario Lemina stabs towards goal. But again a clean view and an easy dive on the ball for the goalkeeper.

Ir's just an indirect way of saying the goalkeeper saved it (there's mud on the ball). Sports reporting is often rather florid. Another example is in cricket, when a score of out for 0 is sometimes reported as 's/he was dismissed without troubling the scorers

Is it a kind of an idiom that is not listed in a dictionary?

Dictionaries define words—they don’t list idioms.

It's not idiomatic among gteneral users. So I wouldn't expect to find it in one of the many lists to be found on the www; but it is a cliché in football reporting (at least I think it is - I don't read many football reports).

I think sometimes they do. I've seen that in the Cambridge Advanced Learner's Dictionary.

You can only find these kinds of idioms or lookup arbitrary phrase in dictionaries that used AI such as this one: [LINK REMOVED] But also should double check the explanation with other sources to make sure it is correct

Please remember to add the 'not a teacher' disclaimer, as you've been asked to do a few times now. I've added it this time, and removed the link. You're risking a potential ban if you continue to post links to commercial apps.
