How to improve my reading speed?

I asked a very nice friend of mine this question. He's an IELTS examiner. I told him that when I was doing the exercise paper of the IELTS reading tests, I usually found that I didn't have enough time to finish all my questions. Then I asked him that question. The rule is "Candidates need to answer 40 questions, reading three passages, within one hour".

How to improve my reading speed?

Is my question natural?

Change "how to" to "how can I" or to "what can/should I do to".

Your reading speed depends -- at least in part -- on how quickly you grasp the material. Understanding what you read is pretty important. It's more important than reading speed. It doesn't do you any good to read something quickly if you don't understand it.

Simple rule - we NEVER start a question with "How to".
