I ask my boss for a day off for the month of August. Let's say I need a leave on 10 th of August and I am informing him today. Would it be correct to say "I am informing him a month ago for my leave"?

"I am informing him a month ago for my leave"?

Does the sentence sound right to you?

I would say: I am submitting my application for leave (on 10 August) today (a month in advance).

You might be mixing up "a month ago" with "a month to go".

I'm applying for leave in August now, when there's still a month to go.
I'm applying for leave a month in advance.

I asked my boss for a day off this August. Let's say I need a day off on the 10th of August, and I am informing him today. Would it be correct to say "I informed him [STRIKE]a month ago for my leave[/STRIKE] today of my day off"?
A month ago was early June. You did not inform him a month ago. You informed him today.

You informed him ahead of time. You informed him in advance.
