2. I have enclosed the xxx file for your information.

If I use the above sentence in an email, which of the above is more natural?

Both are OK. We would need to know what replaces "xxx" to know if the whole sentences are grammatical.

For example, I would use "Excel file".

I enclose things with a letter sent in an envelope. When I send emails, I attach things.

Good point! I got so caught up with the tense issue that I missed the fact that it was the wrong verb.
