It was my first time (to do or doing) ? which is correct ? Thanks !;)

1. It was my first time to do or doing) something.
2. It was my first time doing something.

W
hich is correct? Thanks!
Note my corrections above, and my improvement to the layout of your post. When you give us more than one sentence to look at, present them as separate sentences and number them. Do not put a space before a question mark or an exclamation mark. Capitalise the first letter of every sentence.

In BrE, only the second is correct. However, note that most BrE speakers wouldn't say it that way. We'd say "It was the first time I [verb in past perfect]".

It was the first time I had danced the rumba.
It was the first time I had eaten shellfish.
It was the first time I had seen a whale.
It was the first time I had flown.

Also note that in everyday standard BrE, "I had" would be reduced to "I'd".

Only the -ing form is right.

It was my first time travelling unaccompanied.
It was my first time making gingerbread.
It was my first time smoking a joint.
It was my first time skiing.

You can also use a preposition phrase instead of an -ing phrase:

It was my first time without my parents.
It was my first time on a motorbike.
It was my first time in New York.
It was my first time at the front.
