Hey, dear native English speakers!
Does "more than one year" mean at least two years to you, or just a couple of days or months longer than one year?

TaiwanPofLee, I have moved this thread to Ask a Teacher from General Languages Discussions.

This sort of question is better asked here as it is likely to attract a wider range of answers.

I personally think of 18 months, or even 15 months, as both more than one year and more than a year. 1.1 s is more than one second, as well.

I agree. More than a year/one year does not indicate two or more years.

To me, it just means more than one year.
