Is it grammatically correct to use the adjective "unique" in both the comparative and the superlative form?

Can you say something like:

(1) The way Tom designs clothing is more unique than John's.

(2) The most unique feature of this model car is the pair of front tires.

Please explain this. Thanks a lot.

It's more a question of meaning than grammar. If you take a literal interpretation of unique, which Piscean would prefer, you wouldn't, but many speakers do use these forms. You could use alternatives that would work and wouldn't annoy anyone- like more original in the first and simply unique or most striking in the second.
