Hi
please reply which is right.
there is/ are no book/books in the shelf.
Thank you

I am not a teacher.

'There are no books on the shelf' is the natural way to say it.

'There is no book on the shelf' is possible if contradicting someone who just told you that there is a book on the shelf. In other circumstances it would not be the natural choice.

Hi.

Please reply, telling me which is right.

There is/are no book/books in the shelf.

Thank you.

Roman55 has given you the correct form. Please look at my corrections to your post above, in red. It is important to follow the rules of written English:

- Start every sentence with a capital letter.
- End every sentence with a single, appropriate punctuation mark.
- Always capitalise the word "I".
- Do not put a space before a comma, full stop, question mark or exclamation mark.
- Always put a space after a comma, full stop, question mark or exclamation mark.
