How should I combine the following sentences into one sentence. Thanks!

1. In the US, stores take goods back if customers can produce the receipt.
2. Goods sent on approval must be paid for at the time of ordering, but if goods are returned within 2 weeks customers will get their money back in full.

I think you would be putting too many things into a sentence. And 1 and 2 are not exactly related.
What is the point?

In fact, you should split 2. You might be over-estimating the attention span of the average shopper.

My point is as follows. For example, someone bought a shirt at a department store a week ago. After going back home, he found the shirt didn’t fit him. Three days later, he returned it and showed the receipt to the department store and got his money back in full.

I rewrite the previous sentences as follows. Please help me correct the errors. Thanks!

In the US, stores take goods back if customers can produce the receipt. If goods are returned within 2 weeks, customers will get their money back in full.

Your rewrite is fine.

There's no need to join the sentences together.
