What does that mean?

I can understand 'I am happy for you.' and 'I am proud of you', but I don't quite get 'I am proud for you.'

It seems to be pretty common.

Looking at the very few examples on the first couple of pages of Google results, in most cases it seems to me as if it means something like 'I feel proud on your behalf' or maybe even 'I believe that you have good cause to feel proud and I would like to congratulate you and support you by sharing your feeling of pride'.

"I'm proud of you" is the normal expression.
