Hello,

In my native language there is a phrase which could be translated to recharge one´s batteries. It means to get one´s strength back, mental or physical, simply to relax.

"The week was very hectical so I decided to visit our country cottage to recharge my batteries."

Could I use it in English or does a similar idiom describing what I am talking about exist in English?

Thank you very much.

Change 'hectical' to 'hectic' and your sentence is colloquial in English.
