replicate vs. reproduce vs. multiply

Normally, the viruses "replicate" or "reproduce" or "multiply" faster than germs.
Are they all correct? If so, which one is most common in colloquial English? Thank you in advance.

I think "replicate" may be your best choice there, and unless you're talking about specific viruses, do not use "the."
