My question is I saw a notice at the entrance of the gym which said: Before use, adjust the safety bars properly and secure the weight plates with the spring lock. And I wonder if “the spring lock” is correct because I usually use “spring locks” (plural without the article”) in similar context. More context, kindly refer to the attached image.

I would say "the spring lock" or "the spring locks".
