What is the difference between 'see a doctor' and 'go to the doctor'? Is there possibly any difference?
Thank you,

My question was general: Can be any situation in which we cannot use either of them? Or, is either of them more American or British?
As I searched, personally I think 'see a doctor' is more usual than 'go to the doctor' is. Is it right?
Thanks,

Whatever the problem was, it looks like the OP has fixed it. So my answer is, there is no difference. Perhaps "go to" is more common in AmE and "see" in BrE, but it is not significant. Both would be understood on both sides of the pond.

I can't see much difference in BrE between I went to the doctor and I saw the doctor.
