Is it correct to say someone "slip into a life"? Are these correct and natural?
1. Jackie looked up from her laptop and glanced at the clock. It read three a.m. She wondered when and how she'd slip into this life of working long hours, staying up late at night to meet deadlines and not seeing her children. In her, an idea began to conceive. Maybe she could quit the rat race and take her family to the farm where she grew up.
2. John tossed the empty bottle of vodka into the trash can and staggered to his bedroom. He sprawled on the bed and sank into his thoughts. A part of him was still aware that he's slipping into a drunken, unproductive life but he wasn't sure if he cared.
3. After yet another fight with her husband, Sarah left their flat. As she wandered down the Oxford street, she realized that unconsciously they'd slipped into a cycle of violence and hurting each other.
