Someone posted a video about her cat and asked why the cat held her leg up (as seen in the picture). I replied in the comment section "She's trying to keep balance by holding her leg up".

Is the sentence natural?
 
It would have to be ... keep her balance, but I'm not sure why cats do that.

It's grammatically correct. I'm not really sure that's what she's doing though! I suspect she's got her legs like that because she either just finished or is about to start licking her rear end!

I agree it's not for balance. I'm guessing she's about to or just finished cleaning the raised leg, based on what I've seen my cats do. Note the other hind leg is stuck out for access as well.

A nether-regions wash can't be ruled out, though. 🤣
