Hello!

Can we say: to shrink a pocket?

Is it better to say: to reduce a pocket?

Thank you

W

What do you mean, a pocket?

Do you mean on your clothing? I don't know how you can, short of ripping it off, cutting it, and sewing it back on.

I know my dentist uses the word "pocket" in that context. I think he refers to trying to shrink the pockets.

Yes, I mean on clothing. Could we write on a technical file (for a supplier) : shrink the pocket by 2 cm?

Thanks a lot.

Something shrinks because of heat, etc.

You want them to reduce the size.

'reduce the size of the pockets by 2 cm'
'reduce the depth of the pockets by 2 cm'
'shorten the pockets by 2 cm'
'make the pockets 2 cm shorter [in depth]'
