Summer has officially begun in India and that means it is time for one of the most eagerly awaited fruits which is the lychee, the small pink-skinned, sweet delicious fruit. Whether you eat it raw or make a juice out of it, lychee is a summer treat.

Can you please proofread this small paragraph and correct it if you find any mistakes?

Why do you want us to do this?

I don't see any mistakes in the passage. What parts do you suspect of being wrong?

Maybe it's more of an infelicity than a mistake, but 'it is time for one of the most eagerly awaited fruits' to do what? Maybe it means 'it is time for people to start eating lychess again, because they are in season' In my book 'It it time for <things>' doesn't mean the same as '<Things> are in season'.

I think there's something wrong with the bolded part.

I think you can take out "delicious" or perhaps put it after "eagerly awaited".

Can I remove the article before "lychee", i.e.
... it is time for one of the most eagerly awaited fruits, lychee, the small pink-skinned, sweet delicious fruit.

?

The short and simple answer is that we often use 'the' when we're talking about a type of thing, such as a species.
