Hello.

I was trying to write two examples using the first person singular with 'If I weren't I' and 'Were I not I', but I coudn't. I still need your help. In what situations would it be possible to use the forms 'weren't I' and 'were I not'?

Were I not so modest, I would be insufferable.

And what about the form 'weren't I?'
Weren't I modest, I would be insufferable.

That doesn't work. I can't come up with a weren't I example.
Oh, so it is never used... I mean it never starts a sentence.

A: If I were you, I would do that instead.

B: What would you do if you weren't I?

A: Do you think I am you?

B: No.

A: Then your question makes no sense.
