When I asked my student how the listening task was, she said I answered e.g. question 4 correctly and question 6 incorrectly?

Does it sound natural to say 'I answered a question correctly or incorrectly?

...she said "I answered question 4 correctly and question 6 incorrectly". (Note the use of inverted commas and the full stop instead of a question mark.)

...she said she answered question 4 correctly and question 6 incorrectly. (No invested commas needed if you aren't quoting her verbatim and changing it to reported speech.)
