Hi everyone,

I´ve heard the saying "wanna play?" meaning as "do you want to have sex?" but i´ve been told it also means "do you want to hang out?". Is that possible/true?

Sry for grammar, im Argentinian. Thanks in advance.

Apparently, you don't believe the person who said that to you. Anyhow, if you understand the expression "Do you want to hang out?" I would think you could figure out if the person meant that or something else. In any case, slang expressions come and go.

:)

Children will say "want to play" to mean literal play.
Some adults will say "want to play" to mean sex.

It means: Do you want to have fun? That includes sex, which is a kind of play, but it also includes games, musical instruments, or anything else people do together for fun.

As Tarheel says, it depends on the situation.

I've never heard anyone say it to mean Do you want to hang out? Hanging out isn't necessarily fun, though it can be. Playing is always fun.
