What is the preposition for "jealousy"?

Can I use about? Or toward? Or for?

1. John looked at Patrick, feeling a pang of jealousy. Jealousy about his car, about his wife.

2. John looked at Patrick, feeling a pang of jealousy. Jealousy for his car, for his wife.

3. John looked at Patrick, feeling a pang of jealousy. Jealousy toward his car, toward his wife.

I think jutfrank is probably referring to the adjective jealous which almost always takes of.. But with the noun jealousy the prepositions you've chosen in 1 and 2 are fine. Towards doesn't work for me.

I meant of. I think the word you want is envy, by the way. John wants what Patrick has, right?

toward is just wrong in this case. You can feel envy toward a person who has something you want when you want to suggest that your feeling has a directedness to him/her, but you can't feel envy toward the thing you're envious of. And you can't feel envy or envious about anything.

So I disagree with probus. of is the correct preposition, and toward and about are wrong.
