With or without 'the'?

A) In (the) spring, many flowers bloom.
B) I am going to visit my cousin in (the) spring.

Would you use “the” in the sentences above?

I wouldn't use it in A) because it's a general statement about what happens every spring.
I would use it in B) because I'm referring to one specific spring.
 
I would probably use it in both.
