The basis for this question lies in the British television show: Taskmaster. Specifically, season 2 episode 1: Fear of Failure.
In that episode, the contestants are given three balls at the base of a hill and had to place the balls on top of a mat at the top of the hill.
Exact task wording;
“Place these three exercise balls on the yoga mat on the top of that hill. The task is complete when all three balls sit fully inflated and stationary on the mat. Fastest wins. Your time starts now.”
One of the challengers (Richard) moved the mat to the bottom of the hill before moving the balls onto the mat. He argued that this was acceptable in the wording and it was allowed by the judge.
My question:
I am playing several tasks with my family and I had a similar setup with a different style of wording:
"You have three yoga balls. You must place these balls on top of the mat at the top of the hill. Time will start when you first touch a yoga ball. Time will end when all three yoga balls are on top of the mat."
Two of the contestants (with knowledge of the show) moved the mat to the bottom of the hill and then put the balls on top of it. resulting in very low times.
Based on the new wording, would this loophole be allowed?
