USER REVIEWS

excellent for starters

myself and my 8 year old really thought this worked. it gave me confidence back in my schooldays french, and she had confidence in asking and not being phased when you get 'extra' response back!!
i would definitely recommend for total beginners as a starter package for those key phrases.

Excellent Introduction

For anyone who wants to learn the basics of speaking and listening to French and hear the improvements quickly this is an excellent, inexpensive introduction. It is easy to follow and very effective. It is also ideal for anyone who learned French at school and wants a refresher course.

I am pleased to see that a follow up course is being released in September 2009.

Language course

This is an excellent course for anyone taking a short break in France or Paris, I used it by playing it in the car and just listening, my wife practised out aloud and we both managed on our holiday to Paris.

Good value, Easy to follow

Great value for money and is easy to follow along with. Ideal for beginners and those of us who want to brush up on french for a holiday. On the downside, the tutors keep encouraging you to try and sound french (let's face it, we English will never sound like the french!) and the accompanying booklet is pretty basic (if you are going on holiday to france get a good phrase book (like Collins Gem series).

Good but probably not as good as face to face lessons
~ Written on Jan 22, 2009. out of 1 users found this review helpful.

I ended up bunging the CD's in the car to listen to. I found them good referesher tools. The thing really missing that I would have found useful was a reference book to go with it. As it's read and repeat kind of learning it relies on you listening to the words and repeating them back.

It would probably be better with some kind of interactive learning, but it would obviously be a lot more money. Good value though.
