On the whole a very useful tool - good range of topics etc. The small grammar section at the beginning serves as a useful reminder to those who have studied the language before. However, the fact that there were a number of mistakes in the english spelling and grammar did not fill me with confidence. I can only hope that as the author is a native german speaker that all the german is correct. Of course, I don't know.

This book is really useful for intermediates developing their German vocabulary! The book covers all kinds of topics that other books often overlook. I have found it very helpful to refer to when writing German. However I feel the book would not be adequate for a beginner to teach themself German. It's a great reference book, but if I was going to work all the way through it I would like a few illustrations to inspire me.

This book is extremely extensive, covering many different aspects of German life contained in varied and practical situations. I found this book very handy when I travelled in Germany recently, and was easy to read each night the chapters concerning the places I was going the following day. The only downside is the rather unordered reference section; it is much easier just to look through the book than consult it. Altogether a great buy, and one which I am very pleased with.
