an amazing testimony

This is a most amazing biography. I've read literally scores of Christian biographies, but this is undoubtedly one of the most enriching of them all. I've read it over and over - there's just so much in it; the life story of a Welsh man who sought to fully trust God in all he did, and who constantly stepped out in faith, often 'dangerously', yet God always provided for him. So challenging to each of us personally to really 'walk' with God, to put our faith to the test. A VERY rewarding read indeed.

A Challenging book

Rees Howells Intercessor is now more than 55 years old. It is a superb, deeply challenging book. It has sold more than 10 million copies in numerious langauges. Rees Howells (www.reeshowells.co.uk) fully surrendered his life to the Lord, was led into the life of intercession, married, went to South Africa, saw revival within 6 weeks and EVERYWHERE he went revival broke out in 6 small African countries!

Back in wales, he founded a Bible College by faith, and a school and a hospital and a chapel on 3 college sites. the Holy Spirit came on the campus 4 or 5 times prior to his death in 1950. During WWII he had a team of intercessors who stood in the gap on behalf of Britian and their obedience to the Holy Spirit changed world events.

If you read this book, and please do, its superb, you will be brought to your knees and realise how shallow your walk with the Lord is. Some edition do have photos, but not all.

True faith comes from obedience
~ Written on Jan 9, 2007. 3 out of 3 users found this review helpful.

Rees Howells lived a kind of Christianity that one might think extreme and unnecessary, but the rewards are truly unimaginable if we only press on in obedience and seek the leading of the Holy Spirit in every area of our lives. This is an encouraging book in which Rees Howells demonstrated how he fulfilled his call to a spirit-filled life with all the tests, trials and tribulations!!

Each chapter of the book tells how he came through from what seems to be the simplest, to the most challenging of tests to gain a higher spiritual promotion in his intercession. As he prayed, fasted, seeked and obeyed... The Holy Spirit gave him strategies, so he knew exactly what and how to pray, when to start and stop the intercessions - through which gained him (and God's kingdom) victory everytime!!

A brief record in retrospect of such a Godly man and what God accomplished through him, but a very rich book indeed on how awesome Christianity can and should be.

Brilliant and encouraging

Rees Howells was an awesome bloke, clearly. The book is fantastic and gives an insight into a time when people trusted God on His word and then acted upon it. He was blessed because he was obedient and faithful and as such his obedience affects so many others still to this day. A very good read.

Living the life and walking the walk! So, we think we are doing it? think again! read this book, it is inspirational. Laying ones life down, is what he did, Holy Spirit led...by the word of your testimony.. this is a testimony of truth in action.
