The B Book (Bright & Early Books)

My mother read this book to me 30+ years ago and my brother still has a tape of me reciting the book from memory. When I had my daughter 20 months ago, my mother and I searched everywhere and finally found a copy. I have been reading this book to my daughter for months now and she LOVES it. She even knows words from her "B book" by sight, can repeat some of the phrases and points to the brown bear and blue bull as I'm reading. I would highly recommend this book.

I have previously written to you regarding this purchase. I have finally decided to keep the softback book as I am tired of contacting your company trying to obtain the hardback book as advertised. First you said you mailed a book which I never received, next I reordered and received a softback cover and again was told to reorder and I would obtain a hardback. However, I again received a softback and decided to keep the book as received. I was told that the last book would be sent priority but that I would not be charged for the 2-day mail but only for the regular snail mail charge. However, I was charged 2-day mail rate and it ended up costing me more for mailing than for the book itself. I give up. I am not very happy with the service I received.

I recently visited my parents and was searching their bookshelves for books that would interest my toddler. I came across this book and discovered that 30 years later I can still recite "big brown bear, blue bull, beautiful baboon, blowing bubbles biking backward..."

I loved this book as a child and my toddler loves it as well. It's fun to read, with large, colorful pictures and a silly story that certainly helps little ones figure out what sound a "B" makes. And they'll giggle all the way through as you try not to stumble over all those "Bs"!

The text consists of words beginning with B with a minimum of any other words. This is a great idea for teaching beginning readers, and I wish there were more books like this.

The illustrations are cute and the the story is funny. In other words, it's by the Berenstains.
