I've adopted this for an ESL methods course that is 10 weeks and think it will work well - while knowledgeable in its choice of what to include, it is not "exhaustive" and exhausting like others in the genre. There are good graphic organizers, some good classroom techniques, a nod to the standards, and good summaries of research, in an affordable and not overwhelming book. For a 10 week course and with supplementary materials I think it will do the trick.
