quick excellent service

I bought a used copy from my college bookstore and also bought it new here. I had not known if this would arrive soon enough so I wanted to be covered as there was no leniency with my professor. However, it arrived way before promised so I was able to use it for the first assignment I needed it for. The used copy I had purchased at the school had an annoying sticky place on the book I had not noticed so when this one showed up, perfect and usable, it was such a relief I could return the irritating used one to the school bookstore. Thanks for being so great. I will be looking your way again!

This one is a keeper.

I don't normally like textbooks, but this one is worth the money and time to read it. It really helps to break down the SIOP model/ 30 features and give explanations that are down to earth. I'm keeping my copy as a future reference.

This is an excellent book! It is packed with ideas on how to help English Language Learners excel in the mainstream classroom. I think the strategies in this book would be effective for all the students in the classroom not just ELL's!

This book was required reading for a class I took on teaching English Language Learners (ELLs) using the SIOP, Sheltered English, instructional method. I found the book to be an EXCELLENT resource. It uses a very clear and structured approach to demonstrate how classroom teachers can incorporate research-based practices into their instruction to support learning for their ELL students or, in fact, any students that are having difficulty learning course content. The book provides many suggestions for practices that make content accessible and interesting to learn for students. It provides scenarios in each chapter showing how classroom teachers have incorporated these practices throughout their lessons. After I began using some of the practices with a 6-grade beginning English speaker, he finally started making real progress in learning. I recommend this book to anyone teaching ELL students.
