Bedford Handbook

This book is really, really, really helpful for college students. The book has all tools and the and writing style guidelines you're going to need. My only concern is that it's a little pricey, but it's a must have!

Dr Diana Hacker's Bedford Handbook is possibly the most widely used grammar and writing textbook of our day, and rightly so. It is easily indexed so the writer or grammarian, whether novice or veteran, can find exactly what he or she needs. Both examples of sentences with mistakes and those same sentences corrected are given so one can see how to fix common errors. It is complete both from the writing and from the grammar end of things and this is why I used it as a professional tutor for standardized test preparation on the SAT and ACT and even high school entrance exams. It has become a valuable part of my repertoire to allow me to get my students into 99th percentile on both college entrance exams. It is also a great buy for college students looking to save money on textbooks, being that the current textbook is the Bedford Handbook 7th edition.
