Diary of a Wombat

When I tell people about trips to Australia, it will somehow involve my favorite animal in the entire world, the wombat. It's a wild animal, despite it looking like it'd be a great pet. They're not malicious nor aware that what they do is "bad" and they're so darn cute so you can't be angry with them.

The wombat's story takes place over a week, and starts out with the wombat sleeping, eating and scratching. Eventually, it discovers humans, and as every pet owner knows, humans are great sources of food for cute and cuddly things. Jackie French is a good author - making the wombat less like an annoyance but instead, a cute cuddly animal that can't help itself.

The illustrations are top notch and give the wombat a personality of its own. It shows how destructive they can be - but it's not malicious. They see food, and go after it.

You can't go wrong with this book. It's a great introduction to one of the world's most unique animals and makes for a good story for kids.

This book is absolutely gorgeous. A must have for the family library. Fun and laughter for all ages when reading this book.

My kids (4 and 7) LOVE this book and so do I! The antics of the wombat are laugh out loud funny. Perfect for most ages.

Never knew what a Wombat actually looked like until my ex-wife and I saw this book. If you are a children's book lover or just want to know more about Wombat's, this book is for you! Jackie French gently spins a tale parents will appreciate and Bruce Whatley's illustrations are amazing!

I bought this book for my nephew because I simply LOVE it! I think it's about the cutest thing ever. I would totally reccomend it to anyone of any age!
