The only thing impressive about this thesaurus is its size; but once the reader starts to read through the pages, they will find the vocabulary and coverage to be quite sparse. This book boasts having more than 420,000 synonyms and antonyms but the 'modern' words it presents are mostly street-slang terms so that this is really more of a slang thesaurus than anything else. Sorry, but vulgate terms is not necessaarily 'up-to-date vocabulary'; the review claims this book has many rare and archaic terms: I guess that's true as modern slang for reading and comprehension is rare (or at least should be) in an adademic context. Spare yourselves, this book is nothing but crap for a thesaurus: Webster's is a much better deal. Don't waste your money on this garbage. SIMILAR ITEMS: |
