Use this calendar every year for several years and it has expanded my vocabulary and/or focused me back on the real definition of a word that I've "misused."

I really thought I was a wordsmith until I got this calendar. I haven't known any of the words since the beginning of the year but I'm having a ball learning. I also like that the word is used in a sentence to provide context. Also on the back of the page some history related to the word's use. A great calendar.

It's useful because gives explanation of its origin in addition to offering the definition, example and pronunciation.

Pretty good

I've always loved the page-a-day calendars, and I'm crazy about language, so this seemed like a perfect addition for my desktop--the literal one. I'm just a little disappointed by the word selection. Words such as cat's-paw and reciprocate are either already a part of my vocabulary or never will be. Overall, though, most words are interesting, well explained, and there's the added bonus on the back of each page of an explanation of the word's origin. Plus you get the option of receiving any calendar you'd like on line every day. A pretty good deal!

I bought this for my son-in-law for Christmas and he loved it! He and my daughter look forward to seeing the new word each day and enjoy learning about the history of each word.
