EDITORIAL REVIEW

Your Special Wedding Toasts provides everything needed to help all the toast-givers rise to the occasion. It offers new ideas not only for the best man and father of the bride, but for everyone from the maid of honor to guests, and shows how to craft the toast, how to practice it and pitfalls to avoid, such as toasting only the bride or groom as opposed to the couple.

This helpful guide includes a brainstorming questionnaire to help collect and organize thoughts and stories, popular and inspiring quotes, examples of successful real-life toasts, plus a collection of original wedding toasts tailored to such special situations as second weddings, outdoor or destination weddings and even post-elopement parties.

GREAT sample toasts!

I heard Sharon Naylor talk about wedding toasts on NPR, and she said she had plenty of samples in this book. Not only are there tons of toast samples, there are also tons of great quotes to start or end your speech, and she even has a chart on saying 'Cheers' in different languages! This book is terrific! "It's the words that make the wedding," Naylor says, and my fiance and I are going to use this book to propose some great toasts to our parents at the rehearsal dinner too. What a find this book is!

Small book, great value!

I was 35 and had never delivered a formal toast before being best man in a wedding in September 2007. I paid only $1.99 for this book but it would have been well-worth the cover price. The book is a simple how-to guide for writing a toast.

The book is 118 pages long, the pages are small, and for a basic toast you only need to read about half of the book. The second half of the book is for special situations (toasts for children, second weddings, post-elopement celebrations, etc.).

The best part was the Toast Questionnaire in Chapter 3. Answering those twelve questions got me started and provided the raw material that became a successful toast two weeks later.

I also purchased and read Wedding Toasts Made Easy by Tom Halibeck, and I recommend that book too.

My toast is going to be GREAT thanks to this book

As the mother of the bride, I was quite nervous about making a toast at the wedding. But after reading this book, I now know my toast is going to be TERRIFIC. I found so many great quotes and poetry to inspire me, and I loved the tips on actually delivering the toast to a room full of people. I know that my daughter is going to love what I have to say to her, and I'm not nervous at all anymore. This is a GREAT book for anyone who will be speaking at a wedding, or at a rehearsal dinner, whatever the need for a well-written and well-delivered toast. I'm recommending this to all of my friends!
