This is a great book. I only have a little space for my garden in the back yard but the book gave me a lot of great ideas how to utilese most of it.
Thanks,

Excellent book for the home vegitable gardener

This is a great book for the home gardener, whether your just getting started or want to go further into organic gardening. I refer to it all the time for information on fertalizing, composting, ridding the garden of bugs or just how to make things work for the best harvest. I am buying two more copies for my friends (because they keep borrowing my copy). Great pictures and descriptions you won't be dissapointed.

My most important gardening book.

I am the type of woman who prefers to own just one encompassing, straighforward, trustworthy reference on any given subject. This book is my reference for vegetable gardening.
It is well illustrated, interesting, easy to navigate and makes sense.
Just a note: This was my first year doing a full-blown vegetable garden and I did it by using methods described in this book. My garden was a 20x30 private plot set amongst others in my town's community garden. Everyone said my garden was beautiful and would have won 1st prize [if we had actually been competing]. I wasn't gardening to compete with anyone, but I really appreciated the comments and found it very encouraging to "keep it up" and continue to have fun with gardening and wide raised beds.
I highly recommend this book. Apply clear contact paper to the cover, because you will be using a lot and will want it to hold up over the years!

Good foundation

Just like reading the bible is a good foundation to learn of Christianity, so is this bible a good foundation to learn about vegetable gardening. I find the title ironic, because God commanded us to dress and keep the garden, and the book's name is very applicable to that command.

Go agrarian, it's good for your soul.

LOVE IT

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this book. It truely is my bible for the garden. I am constantly looking things up in it when I'm having trouble with plants or trying to figure out what to grow when. I have loaned this book out so many times to people that I now buy it as gifts. It has helped me with my new backyard (which needs as much help as it can get right now being a rental property that wasn't taken care of before I moved here). I am able to clearly build and set up my own square foot gardens that produce good crops!
